ELLEIPSIS ANNOUNCES AMADEUS TO LAUNCH INTEGRATED TRAVEL SERVICES SOLUTION
TravelTalk Web Services Platform Will Be Offered As A Third-Party Solution; Expands Offering of Leading GDS
Elleipsis, Inc, an innovative provider of aggregated
travel web services based on Open Travel Alliance (OTA) specifications,
announced today that its TravelTalk Web Services product will be offered by
Amadeus North America to its customers as a third party solution. Elleipsis'
product will allow Amadeus customers to access additional distribution channels,
thereby offering travel agencies and development shops access to Amadeus, as
well as an expanded roster of additional travel suppliers such as low-cost
carriers, cruise lines, and widened hotel distribution channels all through one
single, easy-to-use platform. Elleipsis' TravelTalk Web Services will be
available to Amadeus customers who wish to interface with Amadeus using web
services and the SOAP protocol, while Amadeus will still continue to offer its
APIv2 as the main structured XML interface to connect to the Amadeus system.
With TravelTalk, developers that are implementing Open Travel Alliance
specifications may now connect their booking engines and front-office platforms
to several Amadeus distribution channels such as air, car, hotel and cruise,
while still retaining the ability to communicate to other independent channels.
"We believe that our ability to connect into a multitude of travel suppliers,
previously isolated from major search engines, along with the vast existing
reach of Amadeus' current capabilities, will combine to offer developers the
widest range of travel options available," said Diane Byman, President of
Elleipsis. "We are thrilled to partner with Amadeus and to offer this easily
integrated solution."
TravelTalk web services reduce the time to market as well as significantly
reduce the cost of development. With this agreement, Amadeus is also now able to
offer structured API web services along with other "direct connect" APIs to air,
car, and hotel providers.
"Integration and aggregation of traditional and non-traditional travel content
remains a high priority for our clients. By partnering with Elleipsis, we are
able to provide our customers with the tools that help them evolve and remain
competitive," said Bob Lowry, vice president, product management and support,
Amadeus North America. "With the addition of Elleipsis TravelTalk to our Amadeus
Solution Services portfolio, we continue to find new ways to be the best
technology partner to our customers."
